We recognize that how we view ourselves influences how we carry ourselves, push ourselves and defend ourselves. As such, Teenseed has a comprehensive mentorship curriculum that accords teenage/adolescent girls with skills on understanding themselves, building confidence, exercising their voice, knowing their rights, advocating for their rights and those of others, leadership, sex, negotiation, mental health and other necessary life skills. This project runs annually and takes the duration of a year with weekly sessions. At the start of the year, Teenseed reviews applications from girls interested in the program and after recruitment, they undergo mentorship. At the end of the year, four girls from the cohort are recruited to become peer mentors for the next year’s cohorts. In 2024, we had some mentors become volunteers at Teenseed and serve in the ACT team.
