This is a menstrual health project that is aimed towards addressing period poverty, period stigma and shame, menstrual hygiene and management.

Teenseed, with the support from donors and friends mobilizes to procure menstrual products- pads, and annually does a distribution campaign within the informal settlements in Nairobi and in rural/hard to reach areas.

Teenseed has been able to build and rely on a strong relationship with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, both at national and county level to identify schools in vulnerable areas for this project.

Teenseed provides pads for the girls in these schools alongside mentorship sessions and capacity building on menstrual hygiene such as WASH and disposal. We have identified period poverty as a significant contributor to early teenage pregnancy, transactional sex, defilement and school dropouts for girls.

In efforts to ensure that girls remain in school and have a chance to fight for their future, we have identified this project as very vital to safeguarding girls. This project currently runs in Nairobi, HomaBay, Busia and South Sudan.
