Grassroots Feminist movement-building

The WILD Feminists Network (Women in Leadership and Development) is a network of grassroots feminists leading social justice movements in Kenya's informal settlements, uplifting and empowering marginalized groups — women, girls, the queer community and sex workers.

The network fosters feminist community solidarity and support through:

1. Trauma Healing and Mental Wellness: an annual healing retreat, monthly well-being and solidarity check-ins, women's circles on different thematic issues each month, and partner-supported individual therapy.

2. Capacity Building and Organizational Development: training on security, resource mobilization and other gaps identified through capacity assessments. In 2023, all members established physical offices for their initiatives.

3. Leadership and Development: mentorship and development to grow members as leaders, identifying and amplifying trailblazer feminists.

Joint Advocacy: members bring their organizations together toward shared causes, such as the #EndFemicideKE movement.

Current WILD Membership includes: Teenseed CBO, Feminists for Peace Rights and Justice Center, Ladies in Leadership Association, Knight Nurse, and Making A Difference Sisters.
