Teenseed provides temporary safe shelter to young women and adolescent girls at risk, survivors of sexual violence, and rescued girls who are trafficked from neighboring countries and counties for cheap labor and sex work in the city, girls escaping child marriage and other injustices from their families, and abandoned children. In 2021 alone, Teenseed rescued and reunited 9 adolescent girls with their families in Kenya and Uganda. Two girls found new homes in Children's homes, and three were supported to join relatives and return to school. From 2017 to 2019, Teenseed provided mentorship to young mothers aged between 13 and 24 years in Kiambiu informal settlements through the Nawiri Program. The aim of the program is to restore hope to survivors of
sexual violence through skills-building, education, and empowerment. Through its Seeds Community Resource Center, Teenseed acquired land and now provides a community safe space, an alternative education and learning area at the village level for basic literacy, community forums, training, adult education and continuous learning. The center also offers a safe space for women and young mothers survivors of sexual violence who dropped out of school due to teen pregnancies and child marriages. These young mothers cannot return to a formal school to complete their basic education, build careers and pursue their dreams. Teenseed established the Seeds Education Fund (SEF) to support bright, orphaned, vulnerable, underprivileged or at risk of sexual abuse girls. The objective of this fund is to ensure that beneficiaries can remain in school, transition, and complete their studies without further exposure to violence or abuse.
